What’s in PharmaQuin and why?

Glucosamine HCl (11000mg)

Glucosamine (HCl) is an amino sugar which is used as a building block for tendons, ligaments, cartilage and synovial fluid. It’s a vital component of the joint cartilage for strength, structure and shock absorbing qualities. The addition of Glucosamine helps to prevent cartilage deterioration, which is common in competition horses but also naturally happens to all horses with age.

Studies have shown that for best results, Glucosamine should be paired with Chondroitin. Most horse joint supplements on the market contain Glucosamine Sulphate, which is cheaper and not as affective. PharmaQuin contains two varieties which are of premium quality – Glucosamine Hydrochloride and N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine (N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine has anti-inflammatory properties and is essential in treating equine joint problems).

MSM (Methylsulphonylmethane) 12000mg

MSM is a natural form of bioavailable sulphur, essential for the health and elasticity of the tendons, ligaments and muscles. The sulphur within it is key for repair and maintenance of collagen (which is found in the connective tissue of healthy joints).

Chondroitin Sulphate 4800mg

Chondroitin is a natural source of essential amino acids needed for cartilage health. It provides nourishment on a cellular level for the cartilage and creates watery spaces to create better elasticity. By restoring fluid to the cartilage, Chondroitin works well in conjunction with Glucosamine to support joint comfort.

Vitamin C 500g

Vitamin C is for growth and repair of tissues in all parts of the body. It supports the body in creating collagen, which is a vital protein used to make skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. Vitamin C is needed for healing wounds, repairing and maintaining bones and teeth.

HA (Hyaluronic Acid) 300mg

HA is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) which attaches to collagen and elastic to form cartilage. HA not only helps to keep the cartilage strong and flexible, but also increase supplies of joint-lubricating synovial fluid.
