We catch up with Emily Williams and hear about how her season has gone and her plans for the coming months.
AJ and I have ended up having a fairly quiet summer. To recap, she had an injury from last October so we’ve been taking it slowly and carefully to make sure her leg has been up for eventing, and so far so good! We even managed to make the step up to BE Novice at Upton House back in July which was so exciting. We even succeeded in getting a doubler clear at Aston-le-Walls a few weeks later. When she’s not been eventing, we dabbled in a spot of British Dressage and she came home with some good placings!
Sadly, after a delightful clear show jumping at Wellington, I had a nasty fall out on course. Thankfully I haven’t broken anything (as initially feared), but I was certainly quite sore! Although we are both ok, we are slightly rethinking out end of season plans so we can ensure we finish the season full of confidence and look forward to a successful season next year! I’m going to try myself on PharmaQuin again as it was so helpful last time I injured my back and hopefully will help with some of my soreness!
We continue to feed PharmaQuin and PharmaPlast and, as always, we continue to be thrilled with the results. She does have slightly arthritic hocks which were causing her a bit of an issue at the start of the year following her prolonged period of box rest, but the PharmaQuin seems to have made her joints feel much more comfortable and she’s feeling great now!
The results from feeding PharmaPlast and PharmaTRAC to my sister’s horse have also been amazing – he came to us in June and needed to build a lot of muscle and was quite tucked up following the stress of moving homes. He honestly looks like a different horse now! They even managed to come 2nd in the Open Novice Under 18 at Wellington which is incredible, and he looked in fantastic shape.
We’ve just returned from trip to Rosamund Green Farm for a couple of days of intensive training which I really enjoyed. Fingers crossed we’ve both built up any confidence we might have lost, and we might make it to a few more events before the season ends, if not then it’s a Winter of consolidating everything we’ve learnt this year – I will keep you updated!
I’d really like to thank the team at BETTALIFE for being so supportive through the season. The supplements are supporting the horses in many ways, and I look forward to seeing what the coming months bring!
